Au Train River
The Au Train River is known throughout the state as one of the most incredible leisure kayaking rivers around. This magnificent river winds for miles through an uninhabited pinewood forest. Along the journey down river you will spot a variety of wildlife and scenery that is only imaginable. The river averages about 20 feet wide and 6 feet deep. This sand bottom river has banks throughout the trip that you can stop and picnic, swim, hike, or just stretch your legs. There are several places near by that rent kayaks, and will transport you to and from your vehicle. If you are the real adventurous, continue on your journey down the river until you end up of the sandy banks of Lake Superior.
